Just in case .....  WARNING pushing the little blue button while turning the power on from the remote does a complete reset of the TV's convergence.  Read up more here...

Update from David Wenrich. (10/02)

I suggest you get a Tech or someone who knows what they are doing. *Warning...ELECTRICITY IS BAD TO US HUMANS*

I hope this information helps all those who are stuck with either over/underscan, or convergence/magic focus problems.

You must remove the front grill and the wood front to gain access to the convergence button and the horizontal/vertical sizeing pots. The convergence button is on the bottom left.

Push it once to activate. "STATUS" = green "0" = red "ANT" = blue

Use 4,6,2,5 to move the cursor position.

Use thumb stick to move the convergence point.

  1. Receive any NTSC signal.
  2. Start adjustment at center working your way out to the edge.
  3. When convergence is acceptable press PIP MODE on remote to access Write data to ROM memory mode.
  4. Press PIP MODE on remote to write the data to the ROM. (takes about 4 seconds and no picture will be displayed).
  5. green dots will appear when completed. press MUTE on remote to return to convergence pattern.
  6. Press PIP MODE once on remote.
  7. Press PIP CH on remote (This initializes sensor data positions)

Both convergence and magic focus are now done.

Hor/vert size pots are located bottom center. use philips screwdriver to adjust. (they are sensitive so adjust very slowly. Sit back and enjoy a awsome DVD flick. "
